Works on liquidation of Proton-M booster crash will be completed by late July, – Kazakhstan Environment Protection vice Minister Bektas Mukhamedjanov reported at the briefing in Astana on Wednesday.

The booster with 3 Russian GLONASS-M navigational satellites crashed at Baikonur spaceport 1 minute after the takeoff on July 2, 2013. Heptyl cloud with three tails formed at the crash site, but according to the experts it won’t affect ecological situation. Nevertheless Kazakh authorities appointed government commission with environment Protection Minister being its Head to explore the ecological consequences of Proton-M crash.

“In accordance with the technical regulations it will take some time to complete the works and “Garysh-Ecology” specialists will carry out additional researches on site within 10 days. I believe we will finish the works by late July”, – Mukhamedjanov stated.

According to him under the current agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan Russia will be responsible for all works on deactivation and soil restoration.
