Launch of the “Soyuz-ST-B” launch vehicle with the European meteorological satellite “MetOp – C” performed

On November 7, 2018, at 03:47 Moscow time, the launch vehicle “Soyuz-ST-B” with the European meteorological spacecraft “MetOp-С” was launched from the cosmodrome of the Guiana Space Center.

The launch was carried out by joint team of Russian and European specialists.

Exactly an hour later, at 04:47 Moscow time, the satellite was nominally separated from the unit “Fregat-M” and was taken on control.

“MetOp-C” is the third and last satellite of the European Satellite Meteorology Organization.

They are necessary to predict weather for a period of 12 hours to 10 days.
