Final preflight trainings of 38/39 ISS crews going to space on November 7, 2013 started in GCTC. For a month before the launch both main (Mikhail Tyurin (Roscosmos), Richard Mastracchio (NSA) and Koichi Wakata (JAXA) and back-up (Maksim Surayev (Roscosmos), Gregory Wiseman (NASA) and Alexander Gerst (ESA) crews will be having their preflight trainings in Star City.

One of these days Soyuz TMA-11M commander Mikhail Tyurin and his backup Maksim Surayev had trainings on “Teleoperator” simulator. The cosmonauts practiced manual distance control regime for unmanned space vehicles (such as Progress Cargo vehicle, extension modules) close up and docking.

On October 3 Mikhail Tyurin and Richard Mastracchio practiced manual descend with the help of Centrifuge TSF-18.
On Friday main crew member practiced a number of operations on Don-Soyuz simulator.
Next week the back-up crew will have the same trainings.

On October 15-18 the cosmonauts will pass preflight examination (complex preflight examinational trainings). The crews will practice some actions on Soyuz spacecraft simulator and live a“flight day” onboard ISS Russian segment simulator. We remind that it is Mikhail Tyurin’s crew to deliver Olympic torch to the ISS.
