At the “Vostochny” cosmodrome the joint team of specialists from the Vostochny Space Center and the “Progress” RSC (parts of Roscosmos State Corporation) in accordance with a schedule completed the package assembly cycle (1 and 2 stages) of the “Soyuz-2.1b” launch vehicle.

In the future, it will be put into storage mode before the start of the launch campaign.

At the same time the team of representatives of the space and rocket industry enterprises at the Unified Technical Complex began work on opening containers with blocks of the “Soyuz-2.1b” second rocket, removing the pressure seal from the blocks and transporting it to the Assembly and Testing building for further assembly in the “package”.

In the near future, Roscosmos experts will begin electrical inspections on single blocks, after which the assembly of the second “package” of the carrier will begin.

A special train with blocks of three “Soyuz-2.1b” launch vehicles and two head fairings arrived at Ledyanaya station, located close to the Vostochny spaceport, on December 25, 2019.

Specialists of the Vostochny Space Center met the train, after which it was transported to the warehouse of the Unified Technical Complex.

The components of two more launch vehicles: “Soyuz-2.1a” and “Soyuz-2.1b”, as well as the head fairing for the “Soyuz-2.1b” rocket arrived at the cosmodrome in August 2019 and are in storage in the Assembly and Testing building of the launch vehicles.
