On April 29, 2021, Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin, took part in a regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kazan.

During the meeting, the head of Roscosmos made a presentation on the prospects for cooperation between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of space services, focusing, in particular, on the following areas:

Participation of the EAEU countries in the development and production of spacecraft and their subsystems;

  • creation of a consolidated orbital group of the EAEU member states;
  • creation of unified subscriber equipment;
  • joint operator business to provide services;
  • development of human resources in the EAEU countries in the field of space activities.

The heads of the EAEU member states’ governments heard the Roscosmos presentation and expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation in the space sector.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international economic integration organization that includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba have the status of observer states.
