On May 29, 2018, as part of the prelaunch training program, the crews of “Soyuz MS-09” spacecraft conducted open training sessions attended by representatives of the media.

Cosmonauts and astronauts of the main and backup crews Sergei Prokopiev, Oleg Kononenko, Alexander Gerst, Serena Aunon-Chancellor, Anne Macclein and David Saint-Jacques held training sessions at the multi-purpose stand for manual approach of the” Soyuz MS” spacecraft, training on the on-board documentation of the spacecraft , got training of the factors of space flight on special simulators and sports training.

After the training Sergei Prokopiev and Serena Aunon-Chancellor planted the trees on the Cosmonauts Alley.

Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Prokopiev and NASA astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor have to make their first space flights.

Their partner Alexander Gerst already worked as a member of the ISS-40/41 crew from May 28 to November 10, 2014.

During the flight, Alexander performed a spacewalk of 6 hours and 13 minutes.

Alexander Gerst and Oleg Kononenko, as already flying into space, watered the trees planted earlier.

On Thursday, May 31, the crews will conduct a second training session in the ship.

Also, preparations for space flight factors, consultations on the flight program, physical training and medical examinations will be continued.

On June 5, the meeting of the State Commission for the approval of the main and backup crews is scheduled.

After the commission, cosmonauts and astronauts of the crews of the “Soyuz MS-09” spacecraft will take part in the pre-launch press conference.

The launch of the “Soyuz-FG” carrier rocket with the manned spacecraft “Soyuz MS-09” is scheduled for June 6, 2018 at 14:12:41 Moscow time from site № 1 (Gagarin start).
