The unique concert in Moscow late June will be not only the world’s music premiere but a new discovery in the field of space technologies. Didier Marouani famous French musician and composer told ITAR-TASS that he is going to play his world-known song “Magic Fly” together with Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano who will be onboard the ISS at the very moment of the concert taking place in Luzhniki on June 29, 2013.
Major Parmitano (who goes to space late may this year) will play the keyboard. “ Naturally we will have to settle lots of practical matters but if it is Roscosmos, who deals with it, I feel confident” – Marouani said.
This week French musician will meet Italian astronaut in Star City, where he trains for his future mission. For Parmitano it is the first time to go to space. Italian pilot will go to ISS with the experienced space conquerors Fyodor Yurchikhin and Karen Nyberg.
Concert in Luzhniki is devoted to the 30th anniversary of Space’s first tour in Moscow. My band – Space was the first western band invited to USSR, – the musician recalls. – In 1983 Cold War was still ongoing, the relations between East and West were very strained and controversial, but our music fond the path to the hearts of people. Our concerts gathered more than 600 thousand people.
Now at musician’s working desk lies a project of new musical called” the first man in space’ dedicated to Yuri Gagarin. “I have already written almost all music for this performance and now I am thinking over the possible actors, – explained he. – I wish Russian audience also liked the performance”.
