The White House has extanded the USA participation in the International Space Station project until 2024, as reported on the website of NASA National Aeronautic and Space Administration.

“We are pleased to announce that the Obama Administration has approved an extension of the International Space Station until at least 2024”, — the message states.

Representatives of NASA also expressed their hope that United States’ partners in the ISS project will also  join this effort that will make it possible to continue “the groundbreaking research being conducted in this unique orbiting laboratory”.

Earlier NASA has extended the contract with Roscosmos for delivery of astronauts to the International Space Station by Russian Soyuz spacecrafts until the mid of 2017.
