Luxembourg SES Company plans to launch telecommunication satellite from Baikonur spaceport according to the plan, Yves Feltes Company press-office representative reported.

Satellites designed for Luxembourg SES Company, Turkish Turksat and British Inmarsat look forward to be launched from Baikonur spaceport. These satellites have to be launched with the help of Proton-M booster. However some mass media reported that the launch could be cancelled since the satellites include American electronic compounds and get under embargo laid by USA. By the same reason European Eutelsat 3B satellite and Russian Express-AM4R launch may be also cancelled.

“At the present time we have no changes in the schedule of Astra 2G launch due to the  current situation”, – Feltes reports. The info on SES official webpage states that the launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.  According to Feltes SES keeps the track of this situation and is prepared to “cooperate with respective parties to understand it properly” if necessary.

Earlier the management of US State Department controlling arms trade stated that it will reject all high-tech defence products or services export applications. The West imposed sanctions since it does not acknowledge Crimea reunion with Russia based on the results of referendum taking place after regime change in the Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that Crimea status referendum corresponded to the international law standards and UN charter.
