Mountain Survival Trainings

Roscosmos cosmonauts Mukhtar Aimakhanov, Oleg Blinov, Pyotr Dubrov, Sergey Korsakov, Dmitry Petelin, Andrey Fedyayev, Nickolay Tchub and cosmonaut candidate Anna Kikina will be having mountain survival trainings in Tuapse. The trainings take place from October 19 to October 28, 2014.

For the first two days the cosmonauts were studying  the methods and peculiarities of mountain survival.  On October 22 they started trainings studying basic principles of rock-climbing, climbed two mountains,  and spent a night in grot.

These trainings are aimed to improve the cosmonauts’ skills enabling to recognize dangerous situations, take precaution measures to eliminate the possibility of emergencies and accidents. Mountain survival program is also aimed to train physical strength, endurance, attentive and disciplined behavior.
