Japanese citizen Satoshi Takamatsu approved to be the next space tourist Sarah Brightman’s back-up cosmonaut, – Roscosmos representative reported.

“Interdepartmental commission took a decision to include Japanese citizen Satoshi Takamatsu in the back-up crew as a space tourist”, – the spokesman stated.

Takamatsu’ was nominated by Space Adventures Ltd. Company dealing with space tours to the ISS together with Roscosmos.

“We have successfully worked with Takamatsu for the recent 10 years. He is a great space lover and a very successful businessman. We will develop our cooperation with him, – Space Adventures President Tom Shelley reported.

According to GCTC information British singer Sarah Brightman will start training for her 10 days flight to the ISS next January. If everything is according with the plan Brightman will be the eighth space tourist visiting ISS. Apart from Brightman ISS-45/46 crew comprises Russian cosmonautSergey Volkov and ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen.
