In the framework of preparations for 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory Celebration Roscosmos plans to  send an exact copy of the victory Banner to the ISS (the copy of the banner raised by the 150th Rifle ‘Idritskaya’ Division soldiers on the Reichstag building in Berlin on May 1, 1945.

Soyuz rocket with Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft to be launched to the ISS on March 27 will be decorated with 70th Victory Anniversary emblem and St. George ribbon ornament. This spacecraft will deliver to the ISS Victory Banner copy as well as the samples of USSR military uniform of the year 1945 the cosmonauts are to put on for videogreetings on May 9, – Roscosmos spokesman reported.

Onboard Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft crew going to the ISS comprises Roscosmos cosmonauts Mikhail Korniyenko  and Gennady Padalka and NASA astronaut Scott Kelly. They will be the crew of the first 12-months ISS mission.
