On October 25 at 03.15 Moscow time Russian Aerospace Forces operational crew successfully launched Soyuz -2.1b booster with Russian Ministry of Defense satellite from Plesetsk launchsite located in Arkhalgelsk region.

The launch was performed by joint crew comprising Roscosmos, Russian aerospace industry and Ministry of Defense specialists and under the guidance of Alexander Golovko who is Deputy Chief Commander of Russian Aerospace Forces.
The launch itself and satellite insertion into the orbit planned took place in nominal mode.

Three minutes after the launch ground-based automated control complex of German Titov Chief Test Space Centre took the control over the booster. The satellite was orbited in time, telemetry communication with it is stable, board systems are functioning nominally.

This is the third launch of Soyuz-2 booster from Plesetsk accomlished in 2018. Flight testing of Soyuz-2 launch complex started on November 8, 2004. For the last 14 years northern launchsite had seen 34 launches of Soyuz-2 boosters in various modifications ( 1a,1b,1v).
