50 years ago, on October 26, 1968, cosmonaut Georgy Beregovoi successfully launched a spacecraft “Soyuz” into orbit, opening the way for new generation ships to space.

For half a century, the “Soyuz” made more than 130 flights into orbit and is considered the most reliable ship in the world.

The beginning of the history of the “Soyuz” was not triumphant – three unmanned launches were unsuccessful.

In 1967, because of the failure of the parachute system of the descent module of the “Soyuz-1” spacecraft, cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov died.

The next ship was already controlled test pilot Georgy Beregovoi.

Undoubtedly, the flight was associated with a huge risk.

It was an experimental flight, the cosmonaut Beregovoi had to work out the docking, however, the program could not be fully completed.

But the main thing – the launch and landing of the new ship were successful!
