For the first time in 12 years cosmonauts and astronauts trained on actions after landing on a water surface on the Black Sea at the base of the Imeretinsky Universal Sea Terminal (Sochi, Krasnodar Region).

On October 24, 2019, a three-week test course of future space explorers in the sea was completed.

The five crews, that landed on the open sea according to the scenario, included cosmonauts and “newcomers” from the general space training group, who had experienced this difficult kind of training for the first time.

The actions of the candidates for the cosmonauts, who for the first time experienced the “sea survival” and the difficult trainings to board the helicopter, which is in hovering mode, from land and water surface, were also highly noted by the management and the whole team of instructors of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
