Members of the 67th long expedition to the International Space Station, ROSCOMOS cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev and Denis Matveev closed the exit hatch of the small research module “Poisk” at 20:54 Moscow time on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

During their 4-hour and 1-munite spacewalk they were continuing preparation for the operation of European remote manipulator ERA.
The astronauts installed two elbow cameras on the manipulator and removed the launch ring from one of its two end effectors.

Due to the battery voltage drop in the Orlan-MKS spacesuit, Oleg Artemyev, due to instructions of the Mission Control Center (part of ROSCOSMOS Central Research Institute of Space Engineering), returned inside the “Poisk” module and connected the spacesuit to the onboard power supply. The situation was under control of Russian specialists and did not threaten the health of the astronaut. Denis Matveev also safely returned inside the station.

Cosmonauts feel well. Some unfinished operations will be fulfilled during the next spacewalks.
This was the 63rd Russian spacewalk (54th scheduled) within ISS and the fifth in 2022. For Oleg Artemyev it was the seventh spacewalk in his career (45 hours and 44 minutes total), for Denis Matveyev it was the third (18 hours and 21 minutes). Since March 1965, 72 cosmonauts of the USSR and Russia have made 159 spacewalks in their national spacesuits.
