This time the launch vehicle is not quite ordinary. It was decorated with images related to jubilee persons and jubilee events from the space history of Russia. Thus, on the Soyuz one could see an image of the first man who made a spacewalk: Alexei Leonov. This year marks the 90th anniversary of his birth. On the rocket, there were also images related to the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg State University. SPbSU trains many specialists who can tie their lives to space and its exploration. Among its study areas are engineering-oriented physics, hydrometeorology, astronomy, biology, and medical science.

The spacecraft delivers consumables and scientific equipment for seven experiments to the ISS. These are kits for the experiments ‘Biopolymer’, ‘Interaction-2’, ‘Virtual’, ‘Correction’, ‘Neuroimmunity’, and ‘Pilot-T’.

It is also known that Progress MS-27 carries a hyperspectrometer for surveying the Earth’s surface in various spectral bands as part of the Hurricane experiment. According to Roscosmos, it will be installed on a porthole inside the Zvezda service module to fulfill the missions in the fields of ecology, agriculture, forestry, and water management, and monitoring various emergencies.
