ISS -37/37 crew performed more than 160 experiments on Russian and American ISS segments during its half a year mission and moreover coped with off-nominal situation with Luca Parmitano’s spacesuit during the EVA.

According to Roscosmos cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin, ISS Russian segment saw more than 30 experiment during his mission. “I liked “Coulomb Crystal” experiment most of all. I felt so to say like a Creator”, – he told journalists at the Press-Conference taking place in Star City.

ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano told that more than 130 experiments were conducted on their segment. “Personally I took part in 30 of them <…> There was a medical one among them when using special equipment we measured all the changes of human body taking place during the flight”, – he explained.

NASA astronaut Caren Nyberg told that the experiment with liquids and magnet particles was the most memorable to her. “We studied how magnet field may change water flow direction. I believe the results of this experiment may be applied on the earth soon”.

Besides in the course of ISS mission the crew had to cope with off-nominal situation during the spacewalk performed by Parmitano. “At first it was difficult to assess what happened: whether it was the water from the bottle or something’s wrong with the spacesuit system”, – the astronaut said.

After report to Huston the specialists of American Mission Control Centre made a decision to terminate the spacewalk ahead of schedule. “In 15 minutes we already were onboard the station. ISS crew during the spacewalk understood that something had happened. All the crew acted like one person”, – Parmitano stated. According to him it is not clear yet whether it was the only faulty spacesuit or there is a problem with all of them. “However there is a decision to use these spacesuits if necessary”, – he specified.
