Angara-5 heavy booster passed complex tests at the launchpad of Plesetsk spaceport, – Russian Ministry of Defence Aerospace Defence troops press-office representative colonel Alexey Zolotukhin reported.

«Plesetsk spaceport operational crew finished testing Angara space rocket universal launching complex,” – he stated.

Spaceport specialists conducted a series of electrotechnical testing of Angara-A5 booster systems and facilities, launching equipment, tested filling system and checked the launchpad readiness for Angara-A5 heavy booster launch.

At the present time Angara-A5 is removed from the launchpad and transported to Angara integration building where spaceport specialists started technological operations for Angara-A5 flight tests.

The launch of Angara-A5 from Plesetsk is scheduled for December 2014.

As Roscosmos spokesman has already specified Angara booster will provide Russia with independent space access and enable it to move to a higher level of technical development. Angara will enable to orbit heavy space devices (to geostationary orbit). All  parts of the new rocket are manufactured in Russia thus providing technological safety. Besides Angara booster uses ecologically friendly propellant – oxygen and kerosene. Angara-A5 booster will orbit all kinds of space devices Proton was used to launch.
