Testings of new Russian ecologically friendly booster of Angara series will be finished at Plesetsk spaceport in 2020, – Russian Aerospace Defence Troops commander Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko reported.

“On the whole flight tests of Angara rocket complex are planned to be finished in 2020. During this period we have to construct one more pad at the site and one more technological complex where we will prepare space heads”. – Golovko stated.

Earlier it was reported that Angara new launchpad construction will start after 2016 when new program of spaceport construction is elaborated.

In summer 2014 Aerospace Defence troops successfully launched the first Angara-1.2PP booster from Plesetsk spaceport situated in Arkhangelsk region. At the present time the specialists are working to prepare Angara-A5 heavy booster for the first launch planned for December 25, 2014.

Angara complex is being developed on the basis of a number of light, medium and heavy boosters and is to be able to orbit almost all payloads for Ministry of Defence needs.
