The first launch of Angara-A5V heavy booster will take place in 2021, – Roscosmos Head Igor Komarov stated.

“The first launch is scheduled for 2021, we hope that in 2024 the spacecraft with cosmonauts crew onboard will dock with orbital station”, – Komarov reported to the president Vladimir Putin.

On Monday, April 13, together with Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin Komarov demonstrated  Putin the mockup of Angara-A5V heavy booster. According to Rogozin the specialists have already started designing heavy booster on the basis of Angara-A5 series.

Khrunichev Centre and RSC Energia found a unique solution for third stage design that will enable to increase Angara heavy booster capacity by 12 tons.

Rogozin also pointed out that it will also enable to perform deep space flights with the help of Angara booster.
