Pump unit and the construction fixing it to Proton-M booster cruise engine will be modernized in the shortest term, – Khrunichev Centre Director Deputy Alexander Medvedev reported.

Proton-M booster accident occurred at night on May 16, during the insertion of Mexican satellite MexSat into the orbit.

“I’ like to notice that not only separate compounds of the pump unit will be replaced and upgraded but the construction fixing it to the main cruise engine either, – Medvedev said at the briefing held on Moscow on Friday.

He added that as it turned out fixing construction deals with g-force increase. According to him the plan to modernize faulty units will be developed in the shortest term.
