On Saturday Proton-M booster and Briz-M upper stage successfully orbited Eutelsat 9B satellite.

The launch was initially scheduled for for January 28, but was shifted due to weather conditions and took place on January 30, 01.20, Moscow time.

The satellite was launched in the framework of long-term contract concluded between International Launch Services (ILS) and Eutelsat Communications (Paris, France). For the last 15 years 11 Eutelsat satellites have been launched with the help of Proton boosters.

European telecommunication satellite Eutelsat 9V was designed to provide broadcasting and telecommunication services for Italy, Germany, Greece, Northland and Baltic countries.
