The State Corporation Roskosmos has summed up the results of the launch campaign of the Progress MS-15 cargo vehicle, which was successfully launched under the International Space Station (ISS) program on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the space “truck” was carried out from site No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome at 17:26:21 Moscow time, and after 8 minutes 49 seconds, the spacecraft separated from the third stage of the carrier. The flight took place according to an ultrashort two-turn scheme.
3 hours 18 minutes 31 seconds after the launch, on July 23, 2020 at 20:44 Moscow time, Progress MS-15 docked to the Pirs docking bay of the Russian segment of the orbital complex. The spacecraft reached the ISS in record time.
The device delivered cargoes on the station with a total weight of more than 2.5 tons . These are fuel components, oxygen, medical supplies, containers with food and water, consumables and parcels for the crew. The equipment for carrying out the following scientific experiments is also on board: “Correction”, “Pilot-T”, “Aseptic”, “Biomag-M”, “Constant-2”, “Test”, “Endurance”, “Separation”.
After the completion of the necessary checks, Roscosmos cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Wagner will carry out the final operations to dismantle the docking mechanism, transfer the Progress power supply system to a combined power supply and mothballing the spacecraft.
