Pre-launch processing of the cargo transportation spacecraft (CTS) Progress MS-20 has started in the processing facility of Site 254 at the Baikonur launch site to get it ready for the launch under the program of the 81st resupply mission to the International Space Station.

After the spacecraft was installed into its processing station and de-mothballed, RSC Energia specialists performed a visual inspection, a check of the initial state of the onboard systems, and operations to prepare the spacecraft and its ground support equipment for upcoming tests. The schedule of activities for the next week calls for running a cycle of electric tests on CTS Progress MS-20, including a functional check of the onboard computer and information telemetry system, the unified command, telemetry and TV system, as well as testing the automatic equipment of the power supply system, onboard computer switching units and dynamic modes of the guidance, navigation and control system.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying Progress MS-20 is scheduled for June of 2022 from the Baikonur launch site.
