May 30, 2022

At the processing facility of the Baikonur cosmodrome the preflight processing of the cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-20 for the launch under the program of the 81st re-supply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is being completed.

Today, at the integration and test facility, specialists from RSC Energia and core enterprises of Roscosmos have conducted the designers’ inspection of the cargo transportation spacecraft Progress MS-20 and performed a sequence of processing operations to encapsulate it into the payload fairing. Upon completion of the critical launch readiness checklist, the spacecraft within the ascent unit was prepared for transportation for its final assembly with the launch vehicle to Site 31 integration and test facility.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying Progress MS-20 is scheduled for June 3, 2022. The spacecraft flight program calls for a superfast two-orbit rendezvous profile for delivery to the ISS about 2 500 kg of cargo including refueling propellant, reserve supplies of potable water and pressurized gases, as well as 1 458 kg of various equipment and materials for the ISS-67 Expedition crewmembers.
