Proton M booster with Briz-M upper stage and two communication satellites of Express-AT series was successfully launched from Baikonur spaceport. Briz-M upper stage that was to set two communication Express-AT satellites into the geostationary transfer orbit separated from Proton-M booster, - Roscosmos representative reported.

Russian space industry specialists go on with preparations for the launch of Proton-M booster with Briz-M upper stage and cluster comprising two Russian telecommunication satellites Express-AT1 and Express-AT2.

Space device separated from Briz-M upper stage at 10.22 Moscow time. It was the first time Proton-M booster is used to orbit the satellite of Turkish operator Turksat Satellite Communication.

Preparations for the first Proton mission of this year proceed as scheduled. A Proton is to orbit the 5000-kg Turkish TurkSat 4A satellite by mid-February. Proton M/Breeze M/TurkSat 4A integrated launch vehicle (ILV) was rolled out of the Processing Facility to the Launch Complex earlier this morning.

ESA general director Jean-Jacques Dordain told reporters that further cooperation could follow last year’s agreement to jointly develop the ExoMars mission to search for signs of life on the Red Planet.

The satellite was made on the order of Turkish Turksat Satellite Communication, Cable TV and Operation A.S. satellite communication operator. The satellite will be launched with the help of Proton-M booster and Briz-M upper stage in February.

According to ILS press-office 6-tons device Intelsat-31 (Intelsat DLA-2)will be launched first in 2015 , it has to provide TV broadcasting for Latin America. Now the satellite is being designed by SSL company.
