ISS crew members will celebrate New year 16 times and dress the New Year tree with soft toys, – Russian cosmonaut Elena Serova reported from the ISS.

Late September the first woman cosmonaut in the history of new Russia Elena Serova went to the ISS onboard Soyuz TMA-14M spacecraft with Alexander Samokutuayev and Barry Wilmore. The crew plans to accomplish more than 50 experiments onboard the station.

“We will celebrate New Year like we did on the Earth: with New Year tree, gifts and festive table. By the way we will celebrate New Year 16 times”, – said the cosmonaut answering the journalist’s question about New Year onboard. “Space” New Year tree ISS flight engineers will decorate with soft toys.

“I never expect any presents, I like giving gifts myself. Before the flight I thoroughly chose New Year gifts for everyone who is working onboard the station now. And their happy faces will be the best gift for me for Christmas and New Year, – Elena Serova said.
