Foton-M №4 space device successfully landed in Orenburg region in accordance with the estimated data on September 1, at 13.18, Moscow time.
Space device was designed to conduct scientific experiments under microgravity conditions. These experiments will provide new knowledge in the field of zero-g physics, technological processes of solid state material and biomedical products of improved characteristics manufacturing and enable to conduct biological and biotechnological studies. Onboard the satellite there were 5 geckoes, fruit flies, plant seeds and microorganisms.
The satellite weighs 6840 kg, scientific equipment – up to 850 kg (600 kg inside t he descent module and 250 kg – outside. Foton-M №3 medium altitude amounted 575 km, which is higher than ISS medium altitude.
Foton-M №4 was launched from №31 launchpad of Baikonur spaceport on July 19 2014.
