Valentina Tereshkova – the first woman-cosmonaut in the world, Hero of the Soviet Union, candidate of technical sciences, professor of the Air Force Engineering Academy, Major General of Aviation, celebrates her birthday today.

On June 16, 1963, Valentina Tereshkova made her legendary flight on the Vostok-6 spaceship, opening the era of space exploration by the beautiful half of humanity.
