Test cosmonaut candidates (general space training group of 2012 admission)  and test cosmonaut candidates started preflight trainings in GCTC following the results of the first open competitions on cosmonaut corps admission passed one of the most important tests in their space career.

State examination aimed to assess the level of cosmonaut candidates’ preparation for the flight took place in GCTC on June 5 and 6. The examinee group included:

Korsakov Sergey Vladimirovich

Petelin Dmitry Alexandrovich

Fedyayev Andrey Valerievich

Tchub Nickolay Alexandrovich

For more than a year and a half test cosmonaut candidates passed general space trainings incliding technical trainings on manned spacecraft board systems and equipment, preparations for scientific researches and experiments onboard the spacecraft, preparation trainings for extravehicular activities, survival trainings, medico-biological trainings, special flight and parachute trainings and physical and academic trainings as well.

Every examination card comprised  questions on following topics of general space trainings:

–          Soyuz TMA manned spacecraft  design , configuration and systems; guidance, navigation and control system was a separate question in this topic;

–           ISS Russian segment design , configuration and systems;

–          Basic concepts of scientific researches and experiments during spaceflights

After examination State Commission comprised of GCTC, RSC Energia, Russian Academy of science and Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Centre representatives.

According to the experts conclusion cosmonauts candidates successfully coped with the tasks set. On this basis Interdepartmental Commissions awarded the candidates with a position of test cosmonauts.
