The next spacewalk of Russian cosmonauts from the International Space Station is scheduled for the end of 2020, a spokesman for the press service of Roscosmos.
In August, the journal Russkiy kosmos, published by Roskosmos, noted that cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, who will embark on a six-month flight to the ISS on the Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft in October 2020, will have to perform two space under the designations VKD-47 and VKD-48.
“EVA-47 is planned by the end of the year, EVA-48 – in the first half of 2021,” said a spokesman for the press service of Roscosmos.
The previous Russian release took place in May 2019.
Earlier it was reported that the exit under the designation EVK-47 was planned in October 2019, but was postponed to 2020. Its tasks included replacing the thermal control system panel of the Zarya module of the Russian segment of the ISS, removing scientific equipment and installing new equipment on the Russian Zvezda and Poisk modules, as well as dismantling the Soyuz spacecraft element located outside the station for a long time, which should serve the basis for the decision to extend the life of the ship for more than 210 days.
