The Air and Space Forces conducted a successful launch of the Angara-1.2 launch vehicle from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. This is reported by the Russian Defense Ministry. At 10:00 a.m. from the State Test Cosmodrome of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the Arkhangelsk region, the combat crew of the space forces of the Air and Space Forces successfully launched the Angara-1.2 light launch vehicle with spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

At the estimated time, the spacecraft were placed into target orbits and were taken over for control by the ground facilities of the space forces of the Air and Space Forces. Stable telemetry communication has been established and maintained with the spacecraft, their onboard systems are functioning in normal mode, the country’s defense ministry said.

“Angara-1.2” is a Russian two-stage light-class launch vehicle designed to launch payloads of up to 3.5 tons into low-Earth orbit and up to 2.4 tons into sun-synchronous orbit. The height of Angara-1.2 is about 41.5 meters, and the launch mass of the rocket is about 171 tons. It is a part of the Angara launch vehicles family.
